Activities

Begin your educational experience with a 45 minute Educational Butterfly Tour:

Learn about the butterfly life cycle and their incredible metamorphosis.
Observe hundreds of butterfly chrysalises up close in our Pupa Hut!
Discover more about the butterfly’s role as a pollinator in The Butterfly House.
Receive a demonstration of how to hand-feed butterflies with a nectar feeding swab.

The class will have time to explore the enclosure with a pictoral guide and their own feeding swabs!

Requirements

Must have 1 chaperone per 15 students.

No children can be left unattended without an adult present, per Navy Pier policy.

Follow the instructions given by your guide to safely interact with the butterflies!

Once you arrive, please line up at the Entrance (facing the lake). Tell the Admissions attendant the name of your school, group, or organization. An educational guide will meet your group and begin your immersive butterfly field trip shortly!
